THIRD PARTY BROKERAGE SERVICES
After working for many years at larger commercial real estate companies, Michael Dolan and Sean Coatney recognized an opportunity to provide third-party commercial real estate brokerage services to small and mid-sized businesses. Small- and mid-sized business owners were not receiving the same level of service and attention to detail as larger companies did for their commercial real estate needs. Michael Dolan and Sean Coatney started CORE Commercial Real Estate in March of 2011. After a 3-year hard-fought battle with cancer, Sean Coatney passed away in April of 2024.


Prior to CORE Commercial Real Estate, Michael joined Transwestern in the Twin Cities market in 2007 as a Sales and Leasing Associate. He focused on new business development, third-party brokerage, tenant representation, and client representation in transactions for sales, leasing, investment, and acquisition. Michael was part of a team at Transwestern that covered the north, northeast, and east metro sub-markets. Michael is a proven self-starter with a strong background in both sales and the real estate market.

ADDITIONAL CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Before becoming a day-to-day commercial real estate broker, Michael spent about 7 years as a real estate developer in the mid-sized commercial and residential multi-unit housing industries.

Prior to that, Michael created and ran a successful small business that served and supported the video post-production and motion graphics industries nationwide as these industries transitioned from legacy proprietary analogue equipment to digital and computer-based solutions, with annual revenues of over $3 million in the 2nd year of the business.

Previously, he was a national sales account executive for a technology company. Michael consistently exceeds his annual sales quota by more than 125%. He was a proven leader on a sales team and handled the implementation and strategy for all new-product sales.

Michael was a principal in a real estate partnership in the 1980’s, Michael has participated in a variety of real estate transactions, including contract for deeds, real estate development, buyer representation, commercial property sales, vacant land development, and 1031 Exchanges.
